* lib: Allow pure acknowledgment packets in FRCTDimitri Staessens2020-06-061-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This adds the logic to send a pure acknowledgment packet without any data to send. This needed the event filter for the fqueue, as these non-data packets should not trigger application PKT events. The default timeout is now 10ms, until we have FRCP tuning as part of fccntl. Karn's algorithm seems to be very unstable with low (sub-ms) RTT estimates. Doubling RTO (every RTO) seems still too slow to prevent rtx storms when the measured rtt suddenly spikes several orders of magnitude. Just assuming the ACK'd packet is the last one transmitted seems to be a lot more stable. It can lead to temporary underestimation, but this is not a throughput-killer in FRCP. Changes most time units to nanoseconds for faster computation. Signed-off-by: Dimitri Staessens <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Sander Vrijders <[email protected]>
* lib: Change return type of fevent to ssize_tDimitri Staessens2020-03-151-1/+1
| | | | | | | | The return type was still an int, but since it returns the number of events, it should be an ssize_t. Signed-off-by: Dimitri Staessens <[email protected]> Signed-off-by: Sander Vrijders <[email protected]>

* lib: Add event types to fqueueDimitri Staessens2018-05-141-3/+28
| | | | | | | | | | | The event type of the current event in the fqueue can now be requested using the fqueue_type() command. Currently events for packets (FLOW_PKT), flows (FLOW_UP, FLOW_DOWN) and allocation (FLOW_ALLOC, FLOW_DEALLOC) are specified. The implementation only tracks FLOW_PKT at this point. * doc: Add general documentationdimitri staessens2017-10-171-4/+7
| | | | | | | | | This adds user documentation for the Ouroboros User Manual in man sections 7 and 8. It consists of a general man page, a tutorial and a glossary. It also fixes and updates other manpages in the Ouroboros Programmer's Manual.
* lib: Deprecate ouroboros_init and ourboros_finidimitri staessens2017-10-141-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit deprecates ouroboros_init and ouroboros_fini and adds them as a constructor or destructor, causing these function to be run automatically when a program that links to the library calls and exits main(). For this to fully work, the library had to be split so that we can avoid the irmd calling these functions (the IRMd has to create the shm structures on which these calls depend). The library is split in 3 parts: libouroboros-dev, libouroboros-irm and libouroboros-common. The latter is linked to the other two so that including libouroboros-dev or libouroboros-irm will also link libouroboros-common.
* lib: Add fccntl configuration commanddimitri staessens2017-08-311-2/+0
| | | | | | | This replaces the flow_set_* commands with a single fccntl command that can configure flows and the FRCT instance. For more details, see "man 3 fccntl".
